This is the state of the area around the newly installed buddy bench in Iver Recreation Ground after an evening recently. It was found and cleared up the next morning as part of the safety checks and litter picking that the Parish Council’s Grounds Maintenance Team carry out, nearly every morning of the week to keep our open spaces looking at their best and more importantly safe and clear of bottles and in particular broken bottles that can harm animals and children particularly. The Recreation Grounds have plenty of rubbish bins, again monitored and emptied regularly by the Grounds Maintenance Team. We also clean off graffiti where we can, and especially if it is offensive. Where we can’t after trying all the solutions we have we have to call in professionals which gives rise to a cost. Therefore we try to keep calling out professionals to a minimum saving money.
This important activity carried out on a near daily basis by the Parish Council Grounds Maintenance Team, is vital in keeping our open spaces well maintained and at their best for all users and importantly to ensure users are safe when using our facilities. The Parish Council’s Grounds Maintenance Team along with Council Officers, treat the health and safety of all users of our Recreation Grounds as their number 1 priority and without their due diligence our Open Spaces could become unsightly and unsafe. Any defects reported to the Parish Council office are prioritised.
