Recreation Grounds & Premises Assistant
The Ivers Parish Council is looking for a committed and reliable part time member of our team to check and litter pick our recreation grounds and play areas on a Saturday morning. The Parish Council maintains the play areas at both recreation grounds in Iver and Iver Heath and the play area at Richings Park Sports Club. Also to be available on a Saturday and Sunday daytime and during the week to open and close our Pavilions for hirers (and prepare for the hires including checking supplies like hand soap, paper towels and toilet roll is in plentiful supply). The role holder will also need to be available during the hire period to deal with any arising issues.
Flexibility is key to this role as is a ‘can do’ attitude and good customer service skills. The fixed hours are 4 hours on a Saturday morning and then additional hours as required for the hire of our Jubilee Pavilion at Iver Recreation Ground and our Pavilion at Iver Heath Recreation Ground. The role holder will need to drive between sites and a vehicle is available for use. The Officers will always check the role holders availability for work in advance of agreeing any hires. The role holder won’t be expected to clean the premises as this is done regularly but would need to make sure everywhere is tidy before and after a hire. They will also be required to report back to the Officers after a hire to let them know everything was left tidy and in good order in accordance with the terms and conditions of hire.
This role is public facing as the role holder will meet users of the councils facilities including play areas, recreation grounds and our hireable premises. Having some basic maintenance / DIY skills will be an advantage.
The role holder will be fully trained and provided with appropriate equipment, workwear and PPE. There will be a six month probation period. A relevant DBS check will be required to confirm the job holder in post as well as satisfactory performance.
The hourly rate is £12 per hour. The Parish Council team is small but friendly and someone with a cheerful attitude, a good sense of humour and able to work flexibly will fit well into the existing team.
Please contact either of the Deputy Clerks for an informal discussion about the role (admin@iversparishcouncil.gov.uk / 01753 655331) and potential applicants are very welcome to visit the Parish Council office and the sites by arrangement.
