Proposals for a new substation, Iver Sub Station (Uxbridge Moor)
National Grid have previously shared, their planning application was submitted and registered in February, this can be viewed on the Buckinghamshire Council planning portal using the reference number PL/24/0449/FA.
Following this submission, National Grid have had further conversations with council officers about the application and next steps. Council officers have asked National Grid to undertake a number of surveys, including archeological investigations across the proposed site, and National Grid are also taking this opportunity to carry out some further geotechnical groundwork surveys at the same time.
As a result, National Grid would like to make the residents of Iver aware that there will be groundworks taking place on the access road to the quarry, land at Mansfield Farm, and across the wider site over the coming weeks – starting from 20th May. You may see workers and equipment operating during the anticipated hours of 8am to 6pm. National Grid will aim to keep any disruption to a minimum.
If any items of interest are identified by the archeological survey, the Archaeology Service may request that further works are carried out to preserve them within the development. Therefore, the full timescale of the work will depend upon the results of this investigation.
Any decision on the planning application will take place after the work is complete and the results are analysed. National Grid will provide updates on this when they have more information.
